Classic Car Cruise
The third Classic Car Cruise of the year will be held on Saturday, October 29. Main Street in downtown Acworth is lined with classic cars from days gone by and some of today's best looking cars. The show begins at 4:00 p.m. and ends at 9:00 p.m. No entry fee is required, but a $2 donation to a local charity is requested to enter the cruise.
There is no charge for the general public to attend the event.
Acworth Craft Beer Festival
The Third Annual Historic Downtown Acworth Craft Beer Festival will take place on Saturday, November 5 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Senator Russell Avenue. Come out and join us and enjoy over 100 craft beers, live music, great food and TONS of fun! This event is for people 21 and older, no kids or pets will be allowed.

Acworth Computer, Electronic, and Metal Recycling Day
The City of Acworth will be hosting a Recycling Drive on Saturday, November 5th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Recycling Drive will be held at the Acworth Sports Complex (4000 South Main Street) in the upper parking lot above the Horizon Field. Bring your computers, electronics, and metal to the drive. All items are recycled for FREE except the items listed below.
Here are the current prices for recycled items:
Pints and spray cans are $1
Quarts are $2 each
1 gallon cans are $4 each
2 gallon cans are $6 each
5 gallon cans are $10 each
TVs are $20 regardless of size
Monitors are $15 regardless of size
Acworth Turkey Chase 5K Fun Run & 2K Walk
The 8th annual Turkey Chase will take place on Saturday, November 19, 2016! Enjoy an exhilarating 5K run through Historic Downtown Acworth and along the shores of beautiful Lake Acworth. Walk, jog, or run, participants of all ages and abilities are welcome.
Participants can choose between the 5K Untimed Fun Run, 5K Timed Run, or the 2K Walk! Prices vary depending on age and date of registration. Discounted rates are available for early-bird registrations and guarantees you one of the coveted Acworth Turkey Chase tee-shirts!
All particiapants must bring a non-perishable food item on race day to receive their race number and Acworth Turkey Chase T-shirt. The 5K Fun Run will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the 2K walk at 9:15 a.m. on Main Street in Downtown Acworth. There will be a "Little Pilgram" Trot for children up to age 5 beginning at 10"00 a.m. on Main Street.

Acworth Farmer's Market
The Historic Downtown Acworth Farmer's Market will begin this season on Friday, April 8 and continue each Friday morning from 8:00 a.m. until noon through Friday, October 28. The market is located in Historic Downtown Acworth in the Acworth First Baptist Church Parking Lot on the north end of Main Street.
Market customers will have a wide variety of garden ripe Georgia grown vegetables, eggs, cheese, bedding plants, fresh baked bread, pies, cakes, honey and jams to choose from each week. This year's market will be bigger and better than previous years and shoppers won't believe the selection of home grown goodies!

Logan Farm Park Expansion Under Construction
Logan Farm Park is an approximately 120 acre park located in the center of the city. Currently the park encompasses a lighted 1/3 mile walking trial around a multipurpose recreation field with the trail also extending to Cowan Road and Cherokee Street, playground, public restrooms, Amos Durr Community Ball Field, Roberts School Community Center and the Rosenwald School.
As part of the SPLOST park improvements the city is developing another 15 acres of parkland along Cherokee and Taylor streets to expand the park. Included in the improvements are open greenspace encircled by a walking trail which will connect to the existing walking trail in the park. A large community playground, group shelter and restroom facilities will also be constructed.
The Historic House located in Logan Farm Park next to the Parks and Recreation Offices will also be renovated and restored and become a meeting/gathering facility. Construction on the park began in January 2016 and is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2016.
