Taste of Acworth
The Taste of Acworth is an annual event that will take place on Main Street, Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The City of Acworth partners with the Acworth Business Association that benefits numerous local schools and charities in our community. Approximately 20,000 visitors taste their way through this collection of delicacies every year!
The event will host 150 booths from local restaurants and businesses, plus two live entertainment stages! Children will have plenty to do with inflatables, quad bungee, and challenging located in the kid zone.
Admission is FREE! An array of diverse restaurants will be offering food samples from $1.00 to $4.00 to satisfy every palate. Parking will be available throughut the town. Come hungry, bring the kids, and join in the fun!

Acworth Halloween JamBOOree
Come out to Logan Farm Park for a spooky good time! The city partners with Freedom Church each year to make Halloween extra special! The event will be held on Saturday, October 22 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. For a minimal charge each child can participate in many different carnival type games and activities where they can win candy and prizes. There will also be a FREE hayride!
Costume contests, broken up into varying age groups, will be going on throughout the event!

Parking is limited at Logan Farm Park but additional parking can be found at Roberts School, Rosenwald School and the corner of Cherokee Street and Northside Drive.
Classic Car Cruises
The third Classic Car Cruises of the year will be held on Saturday, October 29. Main Street in downtown Acworth is lined with classic cars from days gone by and some of today's best looking cars. The shows begin at 4:00 p.m. and end at 9:00 p.m. No entry fee is required, but a $2 donation to a local charity is requested to enter the cruise.
There is no charge for the general public to attend the event.
Acworth Craft Beer Festival
The Third Annual Historic Downtown Acworth Craft Beer Festival will take place on Saturday, November 5 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Senator Russell Avenue. Come out and join us and enjoy over 100 craft beers, live music, great food and TONS of fun! This event is for people 21 and older, no kids or pets will be allowed.

Acworth Farmer's Market
The Historic Downtown Acworth Farmer's Market will begin this season on Friday, April 8 and continue each Friday morning from 8:00 a.m. until noon through Friday, October 28. The market is located in Historic Downtown Acworth in the Acworth First Baptist Church Parking Lot on the north end of Main Street.
Market customers will have a wide variety of garden ripe Georgia grown vegetables, eggs, cheese, bedding plants, fresh baked bread, pies, cakes, honey and jams to choose from each week. This year's market will be bigger and better than previous years and shoppers won't believe the selection of home grown goodies!

Acworth Youth Basketball League
The Acworth Parks, Recreation and Community Resource Department is ready to begin another exciting Youth Basketball season! This program provides competitive and instructional basketball for children between the ages of five and fourteen. Teams are grouped according to age. Practice starts the first week in November and games begin in early December. Registration began August 1.
Make sure to take advantage of our discounted registration prices before rates increase! Prices vary depending on age.

Horizon League Fall Baseball
The Acworth Parks, Recreation and Community Resource Department is proud to announce the Fall 2016 Season of the Horizon Baseball League! This league is a non-competitive baseball league for athletes with physical and/or cognitive disabilities. Baseball season begins on Thursday, September 8 for adults and Saturday, September 10 for youth and teen divisions. The cost for the league is $15 which covers league expenses. Registration begins on July 1 and ends on August 24.

Logan Farm Park Expansion Under Construction
Logan Farm Park is an approximately 120 acre park located in the center of the city. Currently the park encompasses a lighted 1/3 mile walking trial around a multipurpose recreation field with the trail also extending to Cowan Road and Cherokee Street, playground, public restrooms, Amos Durr Community Ball Field, Roberts School Community Center and the Rosenwald School.
As part of the SPLOST park improvements the city is developing another 15 acres of parkland along Cherokee and Taylor streets to expand the park. Included in the improvements are open greenspace encircled by a walking trail which will connect to the existing walking trail in the park. A large community playground, group shelter and restroom facilities will also be constructed.
The Historic House located in Logan Farm Park next to the Parks and Recreation Offices will also be renovated and restored and become a meeting/gathering facility. Construction on the park began in January 2016 and is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2016.
Acworth Depot Signage Unveiling
The Save the Acworth Depot Foundation has purchased a historic marker and interpretative signage to commemorate the Acworth Depot that was located in Downtown Acworth until 1970. The Mayor and Board of Aldermen in partnership with the members of the Save the Acworth Depot Foundation, celebrated with the public in a special unveiling ceremony on Friday, December 4.
Please be sure to stop by the depot pavilion located at the corner of Lemon Street and Main Street to remember a vital part of Acworth’s history!
