Acworth Farmers Market

The Historic Downtown Acworth Farmer's Market will begin this season on Friday, April 8 and continue each Friday morning from 8:00 a.m. until noon through Friday, October 28. The market is located in Historic Downtown Acworth in the Acworth First Baptist Church Parking Lot on the north end of Main Street.

Market customers will have a wide variety of garden ripe Georgia grown vegetables, eggs, cheese, bedding plants, fresh baked bread, pies, cakes, honey and jams to choose from each week. This year's market will be bigger and better than previous years and shoppers won't believe the selection of home grown goodies!

The Acworth Farmer's Market is proudly sponsored by the Acworth Downtown Development Authority.

 Taste of Acworth

The Taste of Acworth is an annual event that takes place one Saturday in October from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The City of Acworth partners with the Acworth Business Association and JRM Management to host this event on Main Street in Downtown Acworth. This event benefits numerous local schools and charities in our community. Approximately 18,000 visitors taste their way through this collection of delicacies every year and it is expected to evolve tremendously! There are over 120 booths from local restaurants and businesses, plus two live entertainment stages!

Mother-Son Camp Out


The Acworth Parks, Recreation and Community Resource Department is excited to host the third annual Mother-Son Camp Out at Proctor Landing Park on Saturday, September 17.  This event is open to mothers and their sons, 13 and under. Participants will camp alongside the beautiful Lake Allatoona while learning about nature and a participating in a variety of outdoor activities! There will also be a presentation from Let’s Get Wild, outdoor education for the next generation!

The event will begin at 1:00 p.m. with check in and campsite set up. Dinner will be provided, as well as breakfast the following morning. The mother-son “couples” will be responsible for providing their own snacks and camping equipment. Not an experienced camper? No worries! We will have experienced volunteers available to assist with setting up each campsite.

Great Lake Allatoona Clean Up 

Join us on Saturday, September 24 for the Great Lake Allatoona Clean Up! Volunteers come out each year in September and help remove litter and debris from the shores of the lake. The event is sponsored by the Acworth Parks and Recreation Department, the Acworth Lake Authority, Great Lake Allatoona Clean Up Committee, and the Lake Allatoona Association. This is a great project for Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, community groups and anyone who wants to help keep our lakes clean.

Immediately following the event will be a volunteer picnic at the Riverside Day Use Area. All participants are encouraged to attend the picnic and enjoy sponsor booths, music, prizes and more!

Acworth Youth Basketball League 

The Acworth Parks, Recreation and Community Resource Department is ready to begin another exciting Youth Basketball season!  This program provides competitive and instructional basketball for children between the ages of five and fourteen. Teams are grouped according to age.  Practice starts the first week in November and games begin in early December.  Registration began August 1.

Make sure to take advantage of our discounted registration prices before rates increase! Prices vary depending on age.

Horizon League Fall Baseball 

The Acworth Parks, Recreation and Community Resource Department is proud to announce the Fall 2016 Season of the Horizon Baseball League! This league is a non-competitive baseball league for athletes with physical and/or cognitive disabilities.  Baseball season begins on Thursday, September 8 for adults and Saturday, September 10 for youth and teen divisions.  The cost for the league is $15 which covers league expenses.  Registration begins on July 1 and ends on August 24.

Acworth Beach Rentals

The City of Acworth is excited to partner with Acworth Beach Rentals (ABR) again this summer to offer kayak and stand up paddleboard rentals at Cauble Park!   

Lake Acworth is the perfect place to relax and spend the day exploring out on the water.  Whether you're with friends, family, or simply need a relaxing day by yourself at the lake, ABR strives to provide you with high quality water sport rentals and friendly service!  Rentals are held beside Acworth Beach and are available to people 13 and older.  Rentals will be available on Saturdays from 10 to 8, Sundays from noon to 8, and weekdays by appointment only.  Rental times are subject to change depending on weather. Rentals are available through September 5.

Worlds Largest Inflatable Water Slide

Dallas Landing SlideThe City of Acworth and Shoreline Entertainment, LLC is proud to announce the return of the World's Largest Inflatable Water Slide at Dallas Landing Park! The park is located at 5120 Allatoona Drive Acworth, 30101. The slide is 36 ft. tall and 175 ft. long. 

Beginning August 1, the slide will only be open on weekends and holidays. 

Daily Slide Rates are $4.00/person for one slide, $8.00/person for unlimited slides for one hour and $16.00/person for unlimited slides for one day. Please note there is a $5.00 parking fee at Dallas Landing for non-city residents. 

Special group pricing is available for groups of 15 or more sliders. Please note that group rates are not available on holidays.

Logan Farm Park Expansion Under Construction

Logan Farm Park is an approximately 120 acre park located in the center of the city. Currently the park encompasses a lighted 1/3 mile walking trial around a multipurpose recreation field with the trail also extending to Cowan Road and Cherokee Street, playground, public restrooms, Amos Durr Community Ball Field, Roberts School Community Center and the Rosenwald School.  

As part of the SPLOST park improvements the city is developing another 15 acres of parkland along Cherokee and Taylor streets to expand the park. Included in the improvements are open greenspace encircled by a walking trail which will connect to the existing walking trail in the park. A large community playground, group shelter and restroom facilities will also be constructed.

The Historic House located in Logan Farm Park next to the Parks and Recreation Offices will also be renovated and restored and become a meeting/gathering facility. Construction on the park began in January 2016 and is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2016.

Acworth Depot Signage Unveiling

The Save the Acworth Depot Foundation has purchased a historic marker and interpretative signage to commemorate the Acworth Depot that was located in Downtown Acworth until 1970.  The Mayor and Board of Aldermen in partnership with the members of the Save the Acworth Depot Foundation, celebrated with the public in a special unveiling ceremony on Friday, December 4.  



Please be sure to stop by the depot pavilion located at the corner of Lemon Street and Main Street to remember a vital part of Acworth’s history!
